A Timeline of Learning Science in Action
Explore how my path has evolved across diverse educational contexts—from teaching and curriculum design to user research and learning technologies. This timeline highlights the experiences, insights, and innovations that have shaped my work at the intersection of education, research, and technology.
2018
As an Instructor for this after school program, I discovered the power of hands-on, exploratory learning while teaching STEAM to elementary students. Designing engaging activities like baking soda volcanoes and slime taught me how to break down complex concepts and spark curiosity in young learners—lessons that continue to shape how I approach learning experience design today.
2020
As an immediate solution to support Arizona State’s Teacher Candidates in meeting graduation requirements during the pandemic, I worked as a
Live Video Producer for their asynchronous lessons. I also managed the initiative’s process flow, creating documentation and resources.
Contributing to this initiative taught me how to build systems that support asynchronous collaboration across diverse roles and teams. This experience deepened my understanding of how thoughtful documentation and workflows can foster both efficiency and community in large-scale learning initiatives.

Fulton Undergraduate Research Initiative
As a FURI Research Fellow, I explored the intersection of digital learning and design through an independent project. I gained hands-on experience with data collection and analysis tools like Qualtrics, SPSS, and MTurk, while learning how to apply systems thinking to educational research. This experience strengthened my ability to design studies that uncover meaningful insights about how people learn online.
December
National Science Foundation
As an NSF Research Assistant, I investigated how virtual patient systems support learning in medical training contexts. Through a learning strategy analysis and systematic literature review, I deepened my understanding of how technology can be designed to align with cognitive and instructional principles. This experience strengthened my skills in research synthesis, task analysis, and evidence-based design.

Pearson
As a Content Strategy Intern at Pearson, I learned how to translate user research into actionable content solutions for career and teacher education products. I gained experience collecting and analyzing data to inform prototypes and strategy, while aligning with learner needs and business goals. This role sharpened my ability to blend research, design, and content to support scalable learning experiences.
October
IgnitED Labs,
Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College
As Educational Technology Champion Lead, I learned how to translate emerging technologies into practical, hands-on learning experiences for future educators. Leading content creation across tools like 3D printing, XR, and robotics taught me how to design accessible resources and provide technical support in dynamic, fast-paced environments. This role strengthened my ability to bridge innovation and instruction in meaningful, scalable ways.

Arizona Academic Decathlon
2022
While creating training videos for the Arizona Academic Decathlon, I learned how to craft clear, consistent, and brand-aligned multimedia content for diverse audiences. Editing and designing across multiple video modules sharpened my ability to create cohesive learning experiences through visual storytelling. This project reinforced the importance of structure, clarity, and engagement in instructional media.

LMS Migration
2023
Leading the UX work for a global LMS migration taught me how to design experiences that resonate across cultures, roles, and regions. From migrating over 1,000 assets to prototyping a new landing page, I learned how to apply user insights at scale while balancing consistency with localized needs. This experience deepened my understanding of what it means to create intuitive, inclusive systems for a truly global audience.
Leading Align Technology’s first global learning survey taught me how to turn learner feedback into strategic action. By identifying needs, obstacles, and preferences across the organization, I helped shape more personalized, data-informed learning experiences. This work showed me the power of listening at scale—and how insights can drive meaningful engagement and recognition.
